Mobile Web App for Digitalized Warehouse Process
In an airgapped system
DEVELOPMENT

In a recent partnership with DevGold, Browserbite undertook the challenge of developing a mobile web app for one of DevGold's clients to digitalize a critical warehouse process. The goal was clear: streamline and optimize the order retrieval and storage process using cutting-edge technologies while considering the unique infrastructure demands of the client.
Challenge
Digitalization of the Warehouse Process: Translating a physical workflow into a seamless digital experience. The user had to be able to scan a barcode to select an order, then sequentially scan each item from that order and finally deliver them to their respective storage locations.
Offline Deployment: The client's environment had a significant constraint; the software had to function without any internet connectivity. This meant that conventional cloud deployment was off the table.
Solution
1. Technology Stack:
Frontend: React was chosen for the mobile web app due to its robustness and adaptability, ensuring a responsive and user-friendly interface.
Backend: Nest.js was employed for the API, a progressive Node.js framework known for building efficient, reliable, and scalable server-side applications.
2. Digitalized Process:
Order Selection: Users begin by scanning a barcode, which identifies and selects the order they need to work on.
Item Scanning: Once an order is selected, users then scan each item from the order, ensuring accuracy and traceability in the process.
Storage Delivery: After all items from the order are scanned, users move them to their designated storage locations, ensuring that the digital and physical processes are in sync.
3. Offline Deployment Solution:
Recognizing the unique challenges of deploying an app to run offline, the Browserbite team devised a strategy to encapsulate the application within a virtual machine (VM) image.
This VM image was designed to be easily deployable within the client's local network. Once deployed, any device connected to the local network could access and utilize the app without needing any internet connection.
Result
The digital transformation of the warehouse process led to:
Increased Efficiency: Streamlined operations by minimizing manual tasks and human errors.
Real-time Tracking: Enhanced traceability and accountability of items as they moved through the warehouse.
Flexibility and Independence: By deploying the application on a local network, the client was no longer dependent on external internet connections, ensuring business continuity even in challenging network conditions.
Conclusion
Browserbite, in collaboration with DevGold, successfully delivered a solution that not only addressed the immediate needs of the client but also factored in the unique challenges they faced. The project stands as a testament to Browserbite's adaptability, technological prowess, and commitment to providing tailor-made solutions that drive tangible business outcomes.

our contribution
We built the mobile web app and delivered the application as a VMware image because the application is running in an environment that does not have any internet access.
