Challenge

An international e-learning provider for healthcare and caretaking facilities saw in Germany an increasing need for a streamlined and efficient e-learning platform. While there were existing e-learning solutions in the market, there was a lack of specialized platforms tailored for caretaking facilities that adhered to the strict standards and requirements of the German market.

Objective

To develop a robust e-learning platform targeting caretaking facilities in Germany, ensuring a seamless user experience while conforming to the technical and regulatory specifications of the region. Also, all used technology should be either directly offered from German companies or from the EU to make sure that all data never leaves the European Union.

The Solution

Browserbite collaborated with a partner company to co-create a sophisticated solution tailored to meet these demands:

  1. Technology Stack:

    • Frontend: Developed using React for a responsive and interactive user experience.

    • Backend API: Built on Nest.js, ensuring scalable, modular, and maintainable server-side applications.

  2. Hosting and Scalability:

    • Hosted through a trusted German hosting provider.

    • Managed Kubernetes cluster for orchestration, ensuring scalability and fault tolerance.

  3. Content Integration:

    • Courses were encapsulated using SCORM files - an industry-recognized standard that ensures interoperability, accessibility, and reusability.

    • Course metadata was provided via an API that was also used by the customer's international products.

Outcomes

The e-learning platform received an overwhelmingly positive response from caretaking facilities across Germany:

  • User-Centric Design: With the combined expertise of Browserbite and the partner company, the platform offered a seamless user experience tailored for caretaking professionals.

  • Scalability: With Kubernetes at its core, the platform ensured uninterrupted learning experiences, even during peak usage times.

  • Interoperability: Using SCORM meant that course materials could be shared and accessed across different platforms and systems without compatibility issues.

  • Localized Hosting: By choosing a local German hosting provider, the platform guaranteed faster load times and adhered to regional data protection regulations.

our contribution

During the first iteration, while Browserbite focused on building the application, project management and design were provided by our partner company.

After the successful launch, Browserbite took on a larger role, overseeing the project management and design of additional features.
